A strategically placed armchair near the fireplace works wonders for my wife when she’s reading. The same armchair seats additional guests in the living room when we host friends.

4. Family Cook-Offs
Family cook-offs? Growing up in Philadelphia with a large community of friends and family meant fun and exciting events. Our neighborhood would meet every month in the community park for a block barbecue.
We had music and sports for the adults, and food songs for the kids. And so much food to go around the entire neighborhood. As an adult, I harnessed this memory to create a family cook-off with my brother at our home.
